Deleting an organisation and account

This guide explains how you delete your organisation, export data, and what happens during the 30-day grace period.

Table of contents

Export your data

You can at any time download all organisation data as a ZIP file. The export contains:

  • Companies, accounts, and clients
  • All transactions (as a CSV file for use in Excel)
  • Reconciliations with lines
  • Contacts and relationships
  • Matching rules
  • Tasks and task groups
  • Reports
  • Full audit log

How to do it:

  1. Go to Settings → Danger zone
  2. Click Export under “Export all data”
  3. A ZIP file is downloaded to your machine

The export is available to all members of the organisation.

Delete the organisation

When you delete the organisation, a 30-day grace period starts. During this period you can cancel the deletion and keep all data.

How to do it:

  1. Go to Settings → Danger zone
  2. Click Delete org under “Delete organization”
  3. A dialog shows an overview of the data that will be deleted:
    • Number of companies, clients, transactions
    • Active integrations (Tripletex, Visma NXT, etc.)
  4. Type the organisation name to confirm
  5. Click Schedule deletion

What happens next:

  • All members in the organisation receive an email notification
  • A yellow banner is shown in settings with the deletion date and the option to cancel
  • 7 days before deletion a reminder is sent by email
  • After 30 days the deletion is performed automatically

What is deleted:

  • All data in the database (companies, clients, transactions, reconciliations, reports, tasks, contacts)
  • All files and attachments (from Supabase and Cloudflare R2)
  • All integrations are deactivated (Stripe subscription is cancelled, Tripletex webhooks are unregistered, Visma NXT is disconnected)
  • The organisation is deleted from Clerk

Note: Your user account is kept with this option. You can create a new organisation afterwards.

Cancel a scheduled deletion

If you change your mind, you can cancel the deletion at any time during the grace period (30 days).

How to do it:

  1. Go to Settings — you see a yellow banner with the deletion date
  2. Click Cancel deletion in the banner
  3. All members are notified by email that the deletion has been cancelled
  4. The organisation and all data remain available

Only administrators can cancel a scheduled deletion.

Delete only your user account

You can delete your user account without affecting the organisation. The organisation and the data remain available to other members.

How to do it:

  1. Go to Settings → Danger zone
  2. Click Delete under “Delete only my account”
  3. Type your email address to confirm
  4. Click Delete my account

Note: If you are the last administrator in the organisation, you cannot delete your account. You must first transfer administrator rights to another member.

Delete everything

This option deletes both the organisation and your user account. It combines “Delete organisation” and “Delete only user”.

How to do it:

  1. Go to Settings → Danger zone
  2. Click Delete all under “Delete everything”
  3. Complete the confirmation flow (type the organisation name)

The same 30-day grace period applies. After the period expires, the organisation, all data, and your user account are deleted.

If you have memberships in other organisations, your user account is retained.

Frequently asked questions

Can I restore data after deletion?

No. After the 30-day grace period expires and the deletion has been completed, the data is permanently removed. We strongly recommend exporting your data before you schedule deletion.

What happens to my Stripe subscription?

The Stripe subscription is cancelled automatically as part of the deletion process. You will not be billed after the deletion has been carried out.

What happens to the Tripletex and Visma NXT integrations?

All webhook subscriptions are unregistered and integrations are disconnected as part of the deletion process.

Who can schedule and cancel deletion?

Only administrators can schedule deletion and cancel scheduled deletions. All members can export data.

Are all members notified?

Yes. All members in the organisation receive email when:

  • Deletion is scheduled (immediately)
  • 7 days remain (reminder)
  • Deletion is cancelled
  • Deletion is completed (only to the person who ordered the deletion)

Can I delete my account if I am the only administrator?

No. You must first transfer administrator rights to another member, or delete the entire organisation instead.

What is the data format in the export?

  • Structured data (companies, clients, etc.) is exported as JSON
  • Transactions are exported as CSV for easy use in Excel
  • Everything is packed in a ZIP file with a metadata.json that describes the contents
